Renovation of a historic building in Milan: radiant comfort lives here

How to heat your home? For every project there is a tailor-made radiant system. As in the case of the renovation of this historical building in Via Melegnano 10, Milan: 54 flats (3,000 square metres) for which the client requested energy efficiency, summer and winter air conditioning, air treatment and remote climate management with the SmartComfort 365 to ensure comfort and energy saving.

THE REQUEST

As the indoor climate is a primary factor for well-being and contributes significantly to improving the quality of life, the builder also decided to focus on this aspect to increase the value of the real estate..

The objective was two-fold: to ensure climatic comfort and energy savings in line with the needs of increasingly informed buyers who are attentive to the energy class of buildings and the issue of reducing consumption.Our systems were chosen because, compared to traditional heating solutions, radiant heating makes every corner of the house comfortable: it emits a uniform temperature, without  fluctuations attributable to the distance from the heat source. In addition, radiant solutions are the only emission systems with a low temperature difference, reducing consumption even without upgrading the envelope, and that can be integrated with heat pumps and efficient boilers. How to build a sustainable house? Even with the help of radiant systems, which,  on balance, can ensure up to 40 per cent energy savings(fonte: Q-RAD).

THE SOLUTION

The flats are heated with by the Euroflex 20/45 and 40/65 radiant floor heating system, which is highly regarded for its excellent value for money and its compatibility with any type of flooring (resin, parquet, linoleum, etc.) Euroflex consists of EPS panels with a black protective sheathing, the interlocking embossed sheets make installation easier and eliminate thermal bridges, and the shape of the embossing permits the use of various pipe diameters.

The surface temperature respects the maximum limit of 29° C and is therefore perfectly compatible with the human well-being.
